Hello everyone,
This is Pastorette Trish Martinez from Mt. Zion Church of God.
Today is the day the Lord has made are we rejoicing or is our tongue killing each other?
The tongue is full of deadly poison. Let's see what the Word of God says:
- Psa_35:28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
- Psa_37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
- Psa_39:1 To the chief Musician, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
- We will praise as our righteous God thereby exalting God and keeping evil talk away from our tongue.
- We are living in a holy house created by a Holy God. We must remember to speak good talk and leave the negativity out of our mouth thereby controlling our tongue which could be full of deadly poison. God does not accept a praise that has sin by speaking with a venomous tongue on His ear
- Jeremiah 9, according to Matthew Henry's concise commentary, "
"In Zion the voice of joy and praise used to be heard, while the people kept close to God; but sin has altered the sound, it is now the voice of lamentation. Unhumbled hearts lament their calamity, but not their sin, which is the cause of it".
James 3 tells the proper and improper use of our tongue.
"The mouth is the voice piece of the heart of man. The man revels what’s inside of him by his tongue. And sometimes that frightens me.
With the tongue we bless God, even the Father (Jas_3:9); and isn’t that the highest capacity of our tongue to use it to praise the Lord. As we sing the praises unto God and that is the highest capacity for which we can use our tongue is use it to declare praises unto God. With our tongue we bless God even the Father,
but with the same tongue we curse men, who are made after the similitude or the likeness of God. Out of same mouth there proceeds blessings and cursing".
Today we need to do more praising to God that will be a sweet-smelling savor to the nostrils of God instead giving God a praise that is full of sin, thereby praising from the mouth making noise of brass and of tinkling cymbal.
We need to make our praise joyous to God and keep our tongue bridled through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Praising God in the Beauty of Holiness.
Many blessings,
Pastorette Trish Martinez
